Northwood Cider is the Cincinnati region’s first dedicated cidery, recently opened in a newly renovated building. If you aren’t familiar with Norwood, it is an independent city completely surrounded by the City of Cincinnati, OH - Northwood Cider Co. seeks to embody that same independent spirit as the first cidery in this beer-soaked market. We are looking for part time bartenders to help us build a fun and engaging work culture, and get people excited about cider. Our taproom is a place of community, with a welcoming atmosphere. We have regular programming in the taproom such as trivia, yoga, maker markets, etc., as well as special events such as special cider releases, holiday events, craft classes, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Operating the bar, including maintaining cleanliness standards and a high level of product knowledge
• Creating an inclusive, safe, fun, and welcoming atmosphere for customers.
• Staying up to date on our cider offerings, including their pairing with foods, and encouraging our guests- who may be unfamiliar with cider- to try new and exciting options.
• Ensuring a clean taproom environment (customer seating area, behind the bar, and cold room).
• Promoting merchandise, to-go ciders, and other taproom sales opportunities.

Requirements

• Ability to work peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• A positive attitude and can work in a collaborative atmosphere- creating a welcoming and engaging environment for all guests is a top priority.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Can safely lift at least 50 lbs; can kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl; capable of standing for long periods of time.
• Must be available regularly for Saturday and Sunday shifts. We have flexibility and encourage taking time off, so not every weekend is expected- but this is where we have the most need for staffing currently.
